Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE wine, especially zinfandels and syrahs. If you didn't know this about me then you should definitely check out my other blog "The Brown Bag Sommelier", which my husband writes. Our goal is to find delicious wines under $12.99. It is not an easy task but I am up for the challenge. Anyways, I digress.
What I wanted to tell you about is the best "new" store in Los Angeles (new in quotes because they opened at the end of last year). Venokado is an adorable wine shop that also carries gift items. Can you see how adorable this mid-century dollhouse is? I want it for myself. More gifts I would love are the lomo camera, the lightbox frames, the sofa, the cardboard helicopter....
They are now carrying my collection there as well. Please pop over sometime if you are in Los Angeles. You will not be disappointed. The girls that run the store are awesome as well - Susan, Molli, and Traci (with a little help from Oscar).
If you have a special gift to buy you should look into their basket service. They put together the coolest baskets, ones that I would want.

I wish I could, unfortunately we are on totally different coasts! The store sounds absolutely lovely though... I am going to take a look at their site and your other blog!
We have a whole foods store here in Richmond that has a massive wine collection, and a tester wall... its pretty cool! And most of it is locally made!
...I wonder if it is hard to make your own wine... I think I will go google it, that would be cool if it isnt difficult.....

I am now a follower of both blogs, and proud of it!
Happy days,
Joanie
Thanks for your tip about the 2006 Anglianico. We have Trader Joe's here however they do not sell wine. Liquor sales in PA are controlled by the state and one must go to a state controlled store to purchase wine. Selection is not always great, nor are the prices. I'll check out your husband's blog too. Thanks - cheers!
what a great tip! i'll have to check it out in person.
